Quick Start — Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2 (NVR)

This 8-channel PoE NVR onboards cameras automatically and centralizes recording.

1. Power on & activate

Connect the NVR to a monitor (HDMI/VGA) and a network cable. On first boot, set the admin password (activation is mandatory).

2. Plug-and-play cameras

With PoE cameras, connect each to an NVR PoE port. The NVR auto-assigns IPs and adds channels:

3. Web client

Open http://<nvr-ip> in a browser, log in as admin, and use the Live View / Playback tabs. Enable HTTPS and a static IP for production.

Notes

• Use the NVR as the integration point for multi-camera systems; per-camera ISAPI is still reachable through the NVR's input proxy.
• For high-throughput recording/playback in apps, prefer the Device Network SDK over ISAPI.
